Despite the current coronavirus (Covid 19) situation, Borough Care pulled out all the stops to make sure residents felt appreciated and special on Mother’s Day. At Borough Care’s eleven homes for older people across Stockport, the catering teams produced delicious lunch and afternoon tea menus, while the Activity Lifestyle Facilitators organised fun activities for residents.
There were opportunities throughout the day for mums to keep in touch with their children by telephone, video call or seeing them through the window. Families sent lots of cards and gifts, to show their mum she was close by in thought if not in person.
Residents at Borough Care’s Silverdale home in Bredbury are sharing messages with their families via social media. A photo of a resident, along with their individual message to their families, will be available for people to access online.
Dr Mark Ward, CEO at Borough Care, says: “Staff at all our homes are working tirelessly in these unprecedented times, to ensure our residents are supported both emotionally and physically while families are unable to visit. We are committed to ensuring the lives of our residents remain active and colourful, despite the current challenges of maintaining their safety during the coronavirus pandemic.”
